Hi Peter, safe travels to you. Did your friend Larry discuss his ideas on mid term election patterns, or his constructive stance seasonally from now thru end of year ? And always love to hear what Tom D has to add. Would have liked to be a fly on that wall with the 3 amigos!

Larry did a video about 2 days ago on stockcharts TV on YouTube. He's bullish and looking for a December dip. https://youtu.be/MHT3ZnIxxmA

I would strongly advise not to get swayed by Larry's projections and ideas. I know he's much well known and hyped but my experience tells me that most of that is hype and decibels. He didn't forecast a bear market in 2022 and look what what you have on hand. I have stopped listening to self-proclaimed pundits. I learned through hard experience that a good trader only needs his toolbox, he doesn't need anybody's opinion or expert analysis on where markets are expected to go. Very simple, market doesn't give a hoot to what anybody thinks.

Corporate earnings will determine how far this rally goes next week.

Thanks for the update Peter. That helps get some sanity on where markets are and I almost thought on similar lines too. I made a big mistake yesterday and that taught me something. It's a bit personal, but I thought to share it. I had a short micro contract on both S & P and NDX and at one point I'd made $2000 gains, which was quite substantial for the small account that I have. It may sound insane but the fact is that I didn't realise the gains and just watched it all nearly evaporate. A part of me told to exit on time, but I didn't. That's when I realised that I should have simply followed my own instincts and not got swayed by the fact that someone had predicted a low on Oct 21st or that we had a lower target. All that is only guidance. My own pitchfork clearly showed where the support levels were and markets hit exactly those levels and bounced back. In other words, I knew the exact levels where the markets would bounce back and yet I didn't have a clear exit plan for a volatile market. I am not emotional about it, I learnt my lesson. The weird thing though is that it's not a new lesson, it's a lesson I'd learned before but momentarily forgot at a crucial time and chose to remain hypnotised in some other belief. But, honestly, it's an important lesson and I am very clear in my mind going forward. My advice to everyone is always have your own entry and exit rules and use all projections as guidance (regardless of how accurate that guidance is). That's the only way to trade and grow consistently.
